You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Duties
You will supervise and manage the operations of the Compliance Enforcement Branch as they relate to departmental management.
You will develop subordinates' performance standards and evaluate work performance.
You will inspect the installations' status of compliance with various permitting conditions to include air, and stormwater.
You will prepare written reports and correspondence, providing guidance and recommendations pertaining to the results of these command inspections.
You will provide required compliance briefings to all training forces and military resident and visiting units/organizations pertaining to, and governing the status of compliance and means to maintain compliance.
You will provide direct supervision to four Environmental Compliance Inspectors, and one contractor, plan and assign work, interview candidates, recommend promotion and reassignment and evaluate work performance.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final CONFIDENTIAL security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated NONSENSITIVE. The applicant must complete a NACI on SF-85. Failure to obtain a favorable Suitability Determination is grounds for removal.
- Misuse of Government IT systems is cause for disciplinary action, including removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: managing environmental compliance operations and meeting Environmental Management Systems objectives; Monitoring an organization's compliance status by conducting inspections of sites at which hazardous materials may be present, recovered or prepared for disposal; performing quality assurance on environmental programs; AND leading a team by planning and distributing environmental compliance work.

Physical Demands
The incumbent could participate in spill response/spill clean-up actions as directed by the Division Head, NREA while wearing various levels of PPE. Occasionally, lifting and/or working with hand tools as required.
Work Environment
The daily workload and associated work environment is unpredictable. Work is conducted inside, in an office environment and outside in severe field conditions. Outdoor work can involve extreme heat and cold, in dry dusty conditions. Most vehicular travel in training areas is through terrain potentially containing dud ordnance. Due to the nature of the training mission, there is an element of risk. Personal safety remains the foremost consideration.
