About the Position: Position is located at US Army Cadet Command Deputy Chief of Staff, Junior JROTC Instructor Management Division, Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Serves as the U.S. Army Cadet Command Brigade, JROTC Instructor Management Division, Human Resources Specialist (Military) on instructor management matters for JROTC.
Uses expert knowledge of standards and requirements to independently conduct a preliminary screening of personnel making inquiry for Junior ROTC employment.
Responsible for initiating and maintaining physical file and database for each applicant.
Serves as primary reviewer of JROTC Instructor hiring documents from instructors and subordinate units.
Coordinates with school officials nationwide to identify current or projected instructor vacancies and initiates related hiring actions.
Providing staff oversight of and assistance to all instructors.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- May require a one-year probationary period.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work of this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as:
Review personnel documents for accuracy prior to uploading into an automated personnel systems; Conduct quality control checks of personnel documents to ensure compliance with regulations; Assist with the identification of database discrepancies to resolve issues; Utilize an automated system to prepare complex documents such as correspondence, orders, memoranda, forms, or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
