You will serve as a STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH in the EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL GROUP (EODGRU) TWO STRIKE FORCE RESILIENCY PROGRAM (FRP) of EXPLSV ORD DISP GROUP TWO.
Duties
You will serve as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) supporting physical performance, readiness, and rehabilitation.
You will design, implements and monitor PT programs for individual service members and groups to increase energy system development, strength training and power development.
You will conduct fitness education via briefings, classes, seminars, and/or workshops on various strength and conditioning topics.
You will tailor exercise prescriptions for injured active-duty members to maintain worldwide qualification in collaboration with STRIKE Sports Medicine Team.
You will conduct strength and conditioning assessments, track individual and program outcomes, and make recommendations to modify the program as indicated.
You will collaborate with other helping agencies, to include registered dieticians, and provide nutrition evaluation and education.
You will evaluate policies and directives from higher authority and recommend actions necessary to implement and sustain program objectives and requirements.
You will perform the initial analysis of the collected data and provide feedback on a continual basis to the STRIKE program and Sports Medicine Directors, and other leadership as requested.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- Must possess and maintain American Heart Association OR American Red Cross Basic
Life Support Healthcare prover, and CPR.
- In accordance with BUMEDINST 1500.15, employee assigned to or subject to being assigned duties providing direct patient care, either diagnostic or therapeutic must possess and maintain: Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience administering health screening and fitness assessments, exercise prescription, progressive individual fitness programs, and demonstrating proper exercise techniques.
Experience working in large group settings (15:1 or greater), with minimal equipment.
Experience working with athletes at various training levels in the same session.
Experience presenting or lecturing to large groups, on performance topics.
Experience working with sports technology (athlete monitoring systems) and programming with software-based interfaces.
Experience applying fitness and Physical Training (PT) programs, strength and conditioning techniques and principles, including core strength/stability, energy system development, multidirectional strength and power development, plyometric, and balance and nutrition, anatomy, medical terminology and procedures.

Education
GS-09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in an academic field in health sciences, or allied health sciences in sport exercise science, physiology, kinesiology, health and human performance or related degree.
