Duties

You will provide oversight of the Customer Support Center operations to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement of Customer Support Services. You will schedule periodic maintenance, interface runs, and planned outages to ensure maximum availability of Process Services. You will manage and administer the problem tracking and resolution databases including administration of user accounts. You will coordinate emergent responses to daily operational issues with the Information Technology Program Managers and System Administrators. You will direct and participate in the development and maintenance of operating procedures, continuously seeking ways to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of NMCI, Customer Support, and Processing Services. You will analyze processes and capabilities and recommends innovative changes to existing methods and procedures governing technical data support for assigned information systems. You will oversee and lead SUBMEPP participation in Navy efforts for improved IT infrastructure efficiencies and reducing SUBMEPP’s Total Cost of Ownership for Operations and Customer Support. You will routinely coordinate and correspond with other Naval Activities including NAVSEA, Naval Reactors, and the Naval Network Warfare Command.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 411, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing system and database administration, problem resolution, or operational support for Information Technology systems to ensure operability and reliability of services. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing technical direction for the creation and maintenance of user accounts and for the application of appropriate security controls and system resources. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: supporting local and remote user access to applications. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: conducting meetings with technical or managerial personnel to discuss and resolve technical and project issues. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving problems where guidelines and precedents either do not exist or are not directly applicable.
