Duties
Collects, consolidates, and reviews financial data required to build annual budgets and spend plans for assigned DFAS sites.
Performs analysis on complex financial problems and prepares staff papers to support recommendations, solutions, and taskings.
Provides policy interpretations and functional recommendations to mission area managers/site budget teams on diverse financial management issues.
Attends meetings and conferences and participates on committees within and outside assigned sites.
Coordinates with site budget teams, mission area managers, peers, and lead to validate work counts, work years, and dollar requirements. Resolves issues with questionable data.
Requirements

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

Qualifications
Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience Is Defined As:
Financial analyst experience in support of the mission area/product line analysis in the areas of budget, metrics performance, or manpower.
Time-in-Grade:
Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Education
Substitution of Education for Experience:
- Combination of education and experience is not applicable for this position.
- Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.
