You will serve as a INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SPECIALIST in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. SALARY: GS-09: $67,147 - $87,291 GS-11: $81,242 - $105,612

Duties

You will coordinate, monitor quality, and oversee the installation, removal, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of infrastructure used by the shipyard. You will provide final authority for assignment of infrastructure within the shipyard including equipment for permanent and temporary structures. You will research and develop answers for issues concerning infrastructure and issued directives. You will analyze audits, surveillance and deficiency reports to determine appropriate action code, identify adverse trends, review corrective action, and determine corrective action.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

FOR GS-11:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector estimating infrastructure requirements and needs based on facility workload and personnel requirements to recommend improvements to funding or procedural deficiencies and ensure compliance. FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing or evaluating infrastructure deficiencies to identify and make recommendations for facility requirements and ensure compliance. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Substitution of education for GS-09:
Completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)

Completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
~OR~
Completion of a LL.B. or J.D., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work).

Substitution of education for GS-11:
Completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) ~OR~
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
