You will serve as a NUCLEAR BSINESS MANAGER in the Nuclear Business Office of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will oversee nuclear aspects of work identification, resource day duration, cost estimates, funds administration, workload forecasting, strategic planning, and other work associated with nuclear business functions. You will coordinate mid and long-range actions for improvement of shipyard management and operations. You will perform organization planning, providing management guidance and assistance to implement organizations, operational, and procedural changes to improve nuclear operations and shipyard performance. You will keep the Business and Strategic Planning Officer informed of major issues under the Business and Strategic Planning Officer's cognizance, or directly to the Shipyard Commander in their absence. You will ensure coordination of nuclear and nonnuclear interface matters. You will establish nuclear work packages, ensure packages are commensurate with ship availability dates, facility capabilities and constraints, available workforce, and negotiating costs.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and directing nuclear business operations and strategic planning of an industrial shipyard for the inactivation or recycling of nuclear naval vessels to improve shipyard performance and operations.
