This position serves as a coordinator and provider for all clinical, medication therapy management, and other assigned pharmaceutical care services performed within the Inpatient Pharmacy Department of the Claremore Indian Hospital (CIH), Claremore, OK. Full services are available at the CIH including general medicine and surgery, pediatrics, inpatient, emergency room, and outpatient services. This position is supervised by the CIH Pharmacy Director.
Duties
Perform a variety of complex functions in the pharmacy area of clinical pharmacy, medication therapy management, and pharmacotherapy
Develop patient education programs to promote safe and effective use of medications
Provide drug information to patients and providers
Coordinate the clinical pharmacy program including all National Clinical Pharmacy Specialists
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A completed doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Your resume and/or supporting documents must demonstrate that you have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Colombia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-12:
One year of professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least GS-11 grade level that includes: Developing, implementing, assessing, monitoring, and documenting therapeutic plans utilizing the most effective, least toxic, and most economical medication treatments; helping achieve positive patient centric outcomes through direct and indirect interactions with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams in assigned areas; performing physical assessments; and ordering laboratory and other tests to help determine efficacy and toxicity of medication therapy.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
