These positions are located in Region II, Division of Reactor Safety, Plant Support Branch, or located in Region IV, Division of Radiological Safety and Security, Physical Support Branch.The supervisor is Jannette Worosilo (RII) or Jeremy Groom (RIV).This position is in the Bargaining Unit w/ the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter, 208.This position IS NOT subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure and security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
Duties
The successful candidate will perform the full range of Physical Security Inspector duties. Such duties include but are not limited to the following:

- Background investigation leading to a clearance is required for new hires.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GG-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-12 grade in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work performed by this position as described in the duties section above.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Knowledge of physical protection systems, processes, techniques, equipment, hand-held weapons, explosive devices, and procedures at an NRC-licensed facility.
2. Ability to perform field and program assessment of plant security systems/processes to evaluate their effectiveness and to identify potential vulnerabilities in protecting against the design basis threat at an NRC-licensed facility.
3. Experience in evaluating physical security plans, contingency response plans, security plans, fitness for-duty programs and processes, and access authorization program at an NRC-licensed facility.
4. Experience evaluating potential threat information and implementing or recommending appropriate response actions at an NRC-licensed facility. Knowledge of and coordination with other federal, state, and local response organizations, and members of the public.
5. Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Experience that demonstrates knowledge of physical protection systems, processes, techniques, equipment, handheld weapons, explosive devices, and procedures at nuclear power plants, including knowledge of vulnerability assessment and knowledge of response force capabilities, detection and assessment, defensive strategies and response tactics.
