Duties

You will implement and manage physical security programs. You will review design and inspect facilities to ensure proper protection of sensitive materials and compliance with security requirements. You will determine and recommend the appropriate types and quantities of security measures, including safes, alarms, locks, etc. You will test state-of-the-art in intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, and personnel entry control systems.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

DA-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Applying security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; 2) Demonstrating knowledge of Information and Personnel Security program regulations and Physical Security manuals; 3) Providing security oversight related to core disciplines of the Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial Security programs; 4) Planning, implementing, and administering Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) Security. DA-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; 2) Applying knowledge of DoD security procedures, policy guidelines and regulations for security management of programs, personnel, and resources; 3) Providing entry-level security oversight related to core disciplines of the Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial Security programs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

DA-03:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

DA-02:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
