You will serve as a Administrative Support Assistant in the NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.

Duties

You will edit documents for compliance with grammar, punctuation and spelling. You will perform follow-up actions to ensure timely reply/action. You will respond to non-technical, but substantive, request for information involving directorate programs and functions, project assignment, internal procedures and relationships, and current work status. You will use software's to create, copy and edit documents. You will develop training aids for use by office members and provide them with hands-on-training. You will track controlled correspondence and serves as a liaison between the organization and customer.

Requirements

  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience analyzing administrative issues and presenting recommended solutions. 2) Experience with various software programs, such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, and data bases to perform administrative duties. 3) Experience providing clerical and automation support related to records management, management controls, maintenance of tracking systems, and preparing and completing forms and correspondence; AND 4) Experience with filing, receptionist duties, and other clerical practices and operations of an office.
