About the Position: This position is with Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Hawaii. Serves as a Contact Representative in the Referral Management Center (RMC). Incumbent is responsible for the administrative processing of referrals and support functions of tracking and reporting in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and Care Point Referral Management Suite (RMS).

Duties

Serve as a Contact Representative in the Referral Management Center. Assist with Referral Processing including but not limited to: determining referral dispositions, tracking referral status, attaining results, closing referrals, and processing right of first refusal requests. Identify access issues and provides input to specialty staff to recommend corrections. Prepare data for briefings or reports related to referral management. Provide guidance to beneficiaries on how to access care in the network using their TRICARE benefit or other benefits programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Requirement for GS-0962-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes tracking medical referrals using an automated computer system, screening medical referral requests for compliance with established policies, procedures, or other guidance, and providing customer service. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
