About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Honolulu, Hawaii. The incumbent provides specialized information, counseling, and assistance services to beneficiaries concerning their health benefits as part of the managed care program.
Duties
Serve as Beneficiary Services and Assistance Coordinator (BCAC)

Assist the Supplemental Care Program Manager for Tripler Army Medical Center
Serve as Tripler TRICARE Plus Contact Representative
Serve as TRICARE Military Retiree Ombudsman and reports to the Office of the Surgeon General for the Army on any retiree health care issues.
Maintain liaison with TRICARE Support Office, TRICARE Service Center, and related agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing beneficiary information or counseling, 2) providing administrative support, and 3) maintaining records using an automated computer system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
