You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SECURITY/SYSTEM ANALYSIS) in the Assistant Chief of Staff for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Information Warfare (C5I)/Cyber Directorate (N6) of COMNAVSURFPAC.
Duties
You will manage and track the cyber readiness for Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) platforms to ensure compliance with higher level directives and requirements.
You will serve as the Force representative for Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Cybersecurity Workforce Program Manager (CSWF-PM) for CNSP afloat units.
You will perform Navy Qualified Validator role for afloat Authority to Operate requirements.
You will communicate technical findings that serve as a barrier to compliance, and develop courses of action and corrective plans.
You will investigate, analyze, and develop courses of action to ensure both current and future cyber operational readiness of Command, Control,
Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, and Information Warfare (C5I) systems afloat and ashore.
You will provide monitoring and reporting of hardware, communication, and software security vulnerabilities or incidents.
You will ensure that the requisite large expenditure and funds, manpower, and materials are adequately justified.
You will oversee and analyze projects and work that encompass planning, development, expansion, system enhancements, controlling, budgeting, problem solving, automation applications, software, hardware, and related services.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to possess, or obtain within six months of hire, the certification of Navy Qualified Validator, Level 2, to perform the Risk Management Framework functionalities within the assigned duties.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 level advanced within 12 months of appointment.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: recommending improvements to identify areas of potential risk or resistance to change and develops specific plans to mitigate them.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: developing approaches to correct existing or anticipated release discrepancies or problems.
Additionally, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating cybersecurity programs by identifying hardware and software security vulnerabilities to develop and implement plans ensuring required software or hardware security patches are applied to maintain operational readiness of systems or platforms.
