Duties

You will serve as Lead Information Technology (IT) Project Manager for Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command’s (CNSWC) N6 Department. You will serve as Project Manager and participate in the conduct of technical inspections for projects in progress and ensures compliance with requirements and specifications prior to acceptance/fielding of solutions. You will analyze IT requirements submitted by CNSWC departments and subordinate commands and determine the most cost-effective method for implementing the requirement, or recommend alternative solutions. You will participate in the design and documentation of an enterprise IT architecture and assist in the identification and refinement of user requirements to establish planning objectives for current and future IT needs. You will coordinate the accomplishment of approved IT projects, with Department of Navy (DoN), U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), other military services, NSW users, contractors, and commercial agencies. You will determine actions required, establish schedules, and ensure that adequate resources (e.g. funding, staffing, equipment, etc.) are available.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 802 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • A Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading Information technology (IT) Project Management (PM), with advanced knowledge and skill in IT and PM; PM Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), cloud solutions, Development Security Operations (DevSecOps), software engineering, agile methodologies, modern code and scripting, application programming interfaces (API), continues integration/delivery (CI/CD), excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF). Your experience in the information technology field must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A) (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
