This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration.This position is located in the Exhibits & Visitors Services Division within the Public Museum Engagement and Legislative Archives in Washington DC. As an Exhibits Information Specialist you will plan and develop exhibits concepts, identifying and suggesting historical themes and exhibit approaches for a variety of exhibits.
Duties
As an Exhibits Information Specialist, you will:
Perform complex, original research at a highly professional level.
Work with the exhibits registrar in identifying, pulling, reviewing, storing, and installing items for display.
Write exhibit scripts and related materials.
Provide material for use by public information staff in news releases concerning exhibits.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-12 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must include:
Assisting with the creation of historical exhibit themes;OR
Working in a team environment to produce, install, and maintain exhibits; OR
Leading projects related to research or development of exhibits; OR
Giving presentations regarding exhibit curation.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
