A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay. These positions are in the Maintenance Division for the Manhattan Sites located in the New York, New York metropolitan area.

Duties

Performing manual work directly related to elementary trade practices (i.e., repairing/replacing boards on a picnic table or bench, cleaning/replacing sprinkler heads, or installing basic fixtures in restrooms, such as paper holders and soap dishes). Performing basic preventative maintenance on structures with minimal supervision. Assisting higher graded staff on preservation projects. Applying paints and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
