About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) (OA), performing a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support to the Directorate of Operations (DOO).
This position is OBLIGATED.
Duties
Receive visitors, telephone calls, and faxes. Routes calls, faxes, and visitors based upon knowledge of programs and operations.
Prepare correspondence for signature in response to routine inquiries; Compose memorandums, endorsements, and letters in proper format in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 25-50.
Verify discrepancies with originating offices and coordinates correction of errors. Establishes suspense dates, coordinates extensions, performs follow-up to ensure timely and appropriate action and/or response.
Oversee preparation of projected leave schedules for Director, Division Chiefs and selected staff.
Manage, submits and tracks mandatory training requirements for all employees.
Plan and coordinates the day-to-day administrative duties and functions for the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
Receive and reviews all incoming correspondence and official publications, establishes, updates, and monitors tracking system for such items.
Maintain the Director's appointments, calendar and schedule utilizing MS Outlook.
Serve as the alternate representative for General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), responsible for entering purchase request information into the system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Requires Secret (Tier 3) Clearance.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires a qualified typist.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing guidance to staff concerning matters such as but not limited to time or leave procedures, travel vouchers and pay; 2) managing personnel packets to be processed; 3) maintaining records according to regulations; 4) performing administrative duties using automation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
