About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located within the Army Health Clinic Southcom in Doral, Florida. The primary purpose is to maintain results tracking and retrieval process; analyze results for accuracy and research using automated healthcare systems; coordinate patient information needed for continued medical care as needed; provide statistical data compiled as requested using established procedures; generate reports from referral tracking system.
Duties
Utilize office automation equipment, word processing software, and mission specific medical software to gather information and create progress reports or memos.
Advise Military Treatment Facility staff on referral tracking procedures.
Analyze results within Composite Health Care System, DEERS and Tricare information systems for gist and accuracy.
Apply knowledge of medical specialties and services to determine which referral results are to be documented with which ordered referral; resolves through research unknown or questionable areas.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing medical terminology to assist with referral tracking; and experience analyzing results for content and correctness; and experience compiling statistical data; and experience researching health care systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as any field of study.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
