About the Position: Serves as Testing Clerk in the Miami Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Incumbent will conduct aptitude and qualification examinations at the MEPS and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites for the applicants of various Armed Forces Services.

Duties

Operates a variety of office automation equipment including personal computers, facsimile machines, scanners, digital copiers, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), and Industrial shredders. Brief applicants, distributes and proctor examinations, scores exams, performs quality control of examination and sends results to appropriate personnel, and performs data entry of results into automated data systems. Answer phone, personal and e-mail queries from recruiters, liaisons, (some) applicants, school representatives, other Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), Sector, and Head Quarters Military Entrance Processing Command. Conducts aptitude and qualification examinations at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites for the applicants of the various Armed Forces Services. Participates in required training activities, when assigned. Performs manual search of high school ASVAB scores in files, and when found places the results in applicant records. Ensures 100% security and accountability of all accountable test material when conducting test sessions.

Requirements

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Position requires cross-training in other functions of the United States Military Entrance Processing Station (such as processing), and to perform these functions as required.
  • Position requires handling testing materials and equipment.
  • Position requires to conduct test sessions at remote sites, to include administration of high school tests at inner city, rural, and/or at risk schools with large populations (greater than 100 students).
  • This position requires shift work to provide occasional overage early in the mornings, evenings, night (night shift work when the Test Clerk is the only employee in the building), weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires frequent local travel and occasional TDY may be required (may require hotel stay for multiple nights to meet mission requirements).
  • One year of Probationary period may be required.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
