Duties
Analyse is conducted based on current and future capabilities derived from the USASOC Mission Area Analysis and branch/functional operational concepts.
Analyze requirements against the operational environment, available and emerging technology, and other service and foreign equipment being used.
Support the Integrated Capability Team (ICT) for the development and Sustainment of Engagement (S/E) Material solutions to identify ARSOF capability requirements.
Provide direction to a variety of staff elements/individuals in HQ, USASOC and major subordinate commands to ensure technical and timeline requirements are met.
Conduct analysis based on current and future capabilities derived from the USASOC Mission Area Analysis Strategic Planning Process (SPP) and branch/functional operational concepts.
Monitor Research and Development assigned programs in accordance with established guidance and initiatives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 33% of the time. Frequent TDY a minimum of 7 to 10 days per month.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting analysis for strategic planning and guidance on current and future operational requirements for a Special Operations command; Identifying capability deficiencies; Providing support to management and/or staff for development of assigned solution sets; Utilizing Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution Systems (PPBES) automated systems to accomplish the Special Operations command's missions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
