About the Position: This position is located at the Cascom, SCOE USA Trans Corps Regiment and School, 58TH Transportation Battalion on Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Plan and conduct classroom instruction and practical training in all subjects listed in the Army Approved Program of Instruction for motor transport operator.
Create instructional outlines for class presentations.
Present lectures, conferences, programmed lessons, and demonstrations to AIT students.
Train, evaluate, and counsel assigned civilian and or military instructors.
Ensure compliance with approved lesson plans, training schedules, safety practices, and established policies.
Evaluate student efforts in terms of adhering to standards of performance accomplished.
Counsel students and perform administrative functions connected with course instruction and conduct of classes.
Responsible for requisitioning, accountability, maintenance and security of all expendable and non-expendable government property and facilities in assigned area and for related records and reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will be required to obtain Commercial Driver's License within eight weeks of reporting to duty and become tester certified within one year to comply with regulations.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 5% of the time.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing.
- Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- A DA Form 7412 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions identified safety-sensitive under the Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration rules on drug and alcohol testing).
- This position requires participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) teaching basic driving maneuvers, accident avoidance, preventive maintenance and services, motor vehicle forms and records, and tactical vehicle operation; 2) conducting classroom instruction and training activities; 3) developing or reviewing training course materials, aids, and devices and 4) evaluating training results.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
