Duties

You will be responsible for processing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, Non-Temporary Storage (NTS) orders, and Storage In Transit (SIT) extensions for Household Goods (HHG). You will Conduct PCS counseling sessions and training. You will conduct extensive research of Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). You will provide advice and guidance to all levels of NCIS employees worldwide on travel regulations and allowances. You will assist the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on PCS front-end processing. You will train junior PCS program specialist.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience researching and assisting with the interpretation of travel regulations to provide advice and guidance; and creating PCS orders in accordance with travel regulations. GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience researching travel regulations to provide guidance; and assisting with the creation of PCS orders in accordance with travel regulations Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301 (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
