You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in the OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT (CODE 120) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will serve as the SECURITY DIRECTOR and Code 120S Division Head in the OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT (CODE 120) of PSNS and IMF.
You will be responsible for all Ocean Engineering program security, facility and information technology (IT) requirements within our facilities in the local geographical area.
You will develop and implement policies, procedures, and training to meet Ocean Engineering security, facility and IT requirements.
You will manage all aspects of Ocean Engineering security, facilities and IT that have an impact on personnel, facility access and cyber security by implementing proper guidance and procedures.
You will conduct security, facility and IT inspections of all Ocean Engineering areas of responsibility and sub-custodians involved in Ocean Engineering programs.
You will administer indoctrinations, briefings and debriefings, access roster, educational and re-indoctrination programs involved with Ocean Engineering.
You will participate in procurement contracts insuring that Ocean Engineering security, facility and IT considerations are addressed, and standards are implemented and maintained.
You will evaluate employees work performance, manages employee training and development, and administers awards and appropriate disciplinary actions.
You will ensure all personnel receive equal opportunity and treatment in placements, promotions, training, details, and reassignments.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing oversight and guidance on multiple security programs (such as: Personnel Security, Physical Security, and Cyber Security) for implementing procedures, assessing risks, and resolving conflicts in policy or program issues to ensure compliance with security requirements.
