You will serve as a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist in the Personnel Security Branch (Code 1125) of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will manage policy development, planning, direction, and timely execution of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS and IMF) Personnel Security Program functions. You will directly administer all functions associated with processing PSNS and IMF employees for security clearances. You will develop and administer security clearance levels and delivers security compliance requirement briefings. You will evaluate the functionality of personnel tracking systems, recording techniques and controls to ensure compliance with higher headquarter requirements. You will initiate and coordinate policy and doctrinal changes with other supervisors to effect uniform implementation of Navy and Department of Defense (DOD) standards and requirements throughout the Personnel Security Program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing security management and oversight for supporting the implementation, monitoring, or evaluation of security programs or operations to ensure compliance of a command personnel security system.
