Duties

You will participate with the Director in carrying out all operations and provides continuity during changes of leadership. You will furnish advice to the Director and confers with the different Directorates regarding programs, policies, efficiencies or inefficiencies occurring within the organization and any special need to be made in programs or parts of programs. You will direct courses of action within the framework of established policy and objectives to accomplish corporate operations mission. You will coordinate the programming budget, funding and manpower functions of the corporate operations directorate.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Developing and applying policies, methods, and procedures related to program management, command and control, and quality assurance; 2) Managing a variety of complex technical and administrative activities involving the integration of duties at multiple grade levels and the overall coordination of program and business development activities; 3) Restructuring and/or recasting immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans, and schedules to meet substantial changes in administration, program authority, and/or funding; 4) Managing work through subordinate supervisors who each direct a substantial workload; 5) Managing resources (budget, manpower, facilities).
