About the Position: Serves as an Inspections Chief working as the lead and first line supervisor of an IG team/section conducting assistance, investigations, training, inspections, surveys, and studies of IMCOM HQ, IMCOM Directorates Europe, Training, Readiness and Pacific, and IMCOM Garrisons.

Duties

Interviews candidates for vacancies and makes recommendations for appointment or reassignment. Provides advice or counsel to individual employees. Develops job descriptions which adequately reflect the duties to be performed and the mission to be accomplished.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • This Position requires the selectee to undergo and pass the Army Inspector General (IG)background check, conducted by the Department of the army Inspector General (DAIG) prior to an initial job offer.
  • This position requires successful completion of the 3 week Army Inspector General Course.
  • Must remain qualified for access to Inspector General information by maintaining the high standards required of Inspector Generals, specified in Army Regulation 20-1, Inspector General Activities and Procedures, in order to retain this position.
  • Position requires extensive travel to support IMCOM units and programs worldwide.

Experience using systemic inspection techniques, methodology, and analytical abilities to determine the inspection concept to be used for inspection issues. Reviewing and evaluating inspection reports for technical sufficiency, compliance. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information AnalysisInformation GatheringOral CommunicationPerformance Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
