About the Position: Serves as the Inspector General (Branch Chief) in support of the US Army MEDCoE, subordinate training brigades, and center directorates located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Receives complaints, allegations, inquiries, or requests for assistance and information from Soldiers, Family Members, DA Civilian employees, military retirees, and the general public concerning Army matters.
Prioritize case load based on deadlines and requirements.
Develops performance plans and appraises performance requirements, or actions needed to meet standards. Identifies employee training needs, locates sources, and initiates training request.
Applies a broad range of knowledge concerning the Army in conducting research and analysis of conditions affecting operations of the command.
Prepares/reviews a separate detailed written report for each inquiry/investigation containing the facts, evidence, summarizations, interviews, conclusions, and recommendations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain Secret background investigation.
- Travel duty up to 15% of the time.
- You are required to complete 1 year supervisory probationary.
- Incumbent is requiring to successfully complete graduate from the Inspector General School and maintain certification.

Specialized Experienced: One year specialized experience which includes experience conducting complex Inspector General (IG) investigations by utilizing advanced investigative methods and techniques, conducting inspections and developing detailed inspection plans by gathering information, analyzing data, identifying root causes of any deficiencies, recommending possible solutions and coordinating all facets of administrative and operational support as necessary for external IG inspections and experience performing internal assessments to help ensure adequate internal control systems are developed, operational, and implemented within the IG organization to safeguard the efficient management of government resources and personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-12.
