About the Position: Serve as the Criminal Intelligence Specialist for the Protection Directorate is responsible for collecting, evaluating, and analyzing raw/finished intelligence products concerning criminal or terrorist threats daily and for USARNORTH. Provide basic- descriptive, current-reportorial, or speculative-estimate intelligence analysis and assessments.

Duties

Serve as the criminal intelligence officer with experience in a wide range of extensive felony criminal investigations, thus understanding the methodology of criminal threats within the AOR. Provides a deliverable product, Criminal Threat Summary, on a daily basis for the ARNORTH staff and briefs the highlights during the daily Intelligence and Operations Brief. Incumbent works with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies on sensitive joint criminal and terrorist investigations. Plans, collects, evaluate, collate, and analyze criminal intelligence data that encompasses a national and international area of responsibility. Advises Army Commands/DRUs criminal intelligence specialists on the resolution of complex investigative and criminal program issues. Disseminates data through Criminal Intelligence Reports and Criminal Alert Notices. Ensures Intelligence Oversight is adhered to at all times. Threat information and assessments are conducted daily from all sources, which may include federal and private sectors. May also be deployed to support a Defense Coordinating Element (DCE) when necessary to support FEMA operations. May deploy and serve as a member of one of USARNORTH's two Operational Command Posts (OCPs) Exercises a limited range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff. Assigns tasks and sets and adjusts priorities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Will be required to deploy within the NORTHCOM AOR on short notice (in under 24 hours) in response to a Presidential Disaster Declaration (PDD) .
  • Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Incumbent will be expected to function in adverse climatic conditions and under intense physical and mental stress.
  • Must be capable, upon completion of training, of unassisted donning of mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) mask, clothing and equipment.
  • Must be able to wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing such as boots, goggles, gloves, chemical mask and other safety equipment as required.
  • As a pre-condition of employment, any and all incumbents of this position must pass a physical examination.
  • Participation in the DOD/DA Immunization program to include live vaccinations as required by DOD/DA policy.
  • Employee may be required to wear an electronic pager/ blackberry and maintain a working telephone/ cellular at all times.
  • Must be able to obtain/hold a TOP SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility. Failure to satisfactorily complete any aspect of this process is grounds for termination.
  • This position requires 25% TDY.
  • Completion of Unit Antiterrorism Advisors Course (Level II Antiterrorism Training).
  • Applicant selected for movement into a position covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program must sign a DA Form 5019-R.
  • Incumbent is required to file a Statement of Employee and Financial Interest (D Form 1555) and SF-450 Confidential Financial Disclosure.
  • Supervisory Probationary period is required.
