About the Position: Serves under the supervision of the Director/Division Chief, Tactical Support Equipment Department who relies on the incumbent to independently plan and coordinate the work; resolve conflicts; participates fully with the Director/Division Chief in the direction of the activities of the Department/Division and to keep the Director/Division Chief advised on the important matters related to the mission and operations of the Department/Division and their implications.
Duties
Participates fully in the planning, conduct, review and evaluation and direction of program activities of the Department/Division as they relate to the Professional Military Education (PME)
Exercises line authority and technical direction in formulating, guiding, and managing the training functions and operations essential to the accomplishments of the Director/Division Chief's mission.
Assists in establishing long and short range plans, and resolves complex training and managerial problems relating to the Professional Military Education (PME) taught in the Technical Training Department/Divisions.
Assists in the establishment of overall administrative, management, and organizational framework for Department/Division programs, delegates authority and responsibility; and allocates resources within broad budgetary limitations.
Serves as the senior training specialist responsible for coordinating and conducting PME training course programs and activities.
Develops/provides input to and coordinates Course Administrative Data (CAD) development/review; assists in the development of Individual Training Plans (ITP) and Programs of Instruction (POI).
Requirements

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, developing, and reviewing requirements for institutional training systems/processes and required training materials in the field of institutional training product development, reviewing training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
