About the Position: This position plans, directs, schedules and coordinates functions, work operations and activities as well as establishes workflow and functional assignments and distributes work to meet demands. This position also performs supervisory personnel management functions for employees in the assigned work area.

Duties

Advise leadership on issues that impact military personnel management programs. Direct the formulation of policies or programs to support highly sensitive officer and enlisted personnel management actions. Apply knowledge of military human resources concepts and principles to independently resolve difficult or complex problems. Develop standard operating procedures to provide guidance in different areas of the human resources programs. Identify employee developmental needs to provide training that improves job performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • The incumbent will be required to perform duties on the Military Personnel Division/Adjutant General HURCON or Mass Casualty Team.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Human Resources, Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
