This position is part of the Facilities Management, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia
Duties
Performing administrative functions regarding leave, grievances, discipline, performance, awards, tracking of financial and labor hours.
Supporting and explaining management programs to their subordinates.
Observing work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassign personnel within group supervised, and coordinating work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress to meet schedule.
Assigning work requirements and daily goals to subordinates such as (Electrician Work Leader, KE 2805-00, Electrician, KE-2805-00, and Printing Plant Workers),

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required.
- Selectee must successfully pass pre-employment requirements prior to appointment.
- Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Non-Sensitive Low Risk security clearance.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure Report is Required.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one-year Supervisory probation period.
- Selectee must pass a drug test prior to appointment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Facilities Craft Supervisor, you must meet the following requirements:
To qual for the Facilities Craft Supervisor, KE-2805-00, you must meet the following screen-out element, job element 1 to be considered for this position: (1) Advising and counseling workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques; AND
(2) Tracking and reporting progress on work assignments and request authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment, and materials to meet schedules; AND
(3) Leading and overseeing employees engaged in all phases of electrical work within the Electrical Shop which includes designing and making modifications to production equipment and maintaining a facility with minimal supervision.
NOTE: In addition to the requirements above, GPO employees competing under merit promotion procedures must meet all of the following criteria in accordance with Federal Merit Promotion Plan, GPO Instruction 615.2C (Appendix B): (1) Have completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacancy; AND (2) Have at least 1 year of journeyperson experience subsequent to completion of the above apprenticeship or training; AND (3) Have served a minimum of 1 year in Career or Career-Conditional appointment.
OR GPO employees can qualify with
(1) a baccalaureate degree or 3 years of responsible experience in the printing industry equivalent to, at a minimum, the GPO journeyperson level.
(2) 2 years of experience in the printing industry of a scope and quality sufficient to carry out the duties of the vacant position, 1 year of which must have been at or comparable to the GS-12 level.
(3) served a minimum of 1 year in a career or career-conditional appointment in the GPO.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
