Serves as an expert in identifying, developing, and delivering safety programs to meet national safety goals. Develops and interprets standards, regulations, and procedures to integrate safety effectively into the national highway program. Tailor safety program activities to help improve local, rural, and tribal highway safety in the U.S. Safety program activities which may include one or more of the following: local, rural, and tribal transportation safety, and other safety related programs.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience managing projects/programs to implement strategies that advance transportation programs or policies with an emphasis on the Federal aid program and transportation safety; AND
Experience in defining transportation problems and recommending solutions.
To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
Experience independently developing and managing projects/programs or leading teams to implement strategies that advance transportation programs or policies with an emphasis on the Federal Aid Program and transportation safety; AND
Experience in formulating and advancing agency goals by identifying transportation problems and executing countermeasures to mitigate challenges.
