You will serve as a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist in the Quality Assurance Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will monitor, evaluate, and track Quality Assurance Programs. You will execute a complete range of managerial functions including personnel, financial, and administrative resource requirement development and Quality Assurance Program direction. You will apply advanced and complex Quality Assurance Program concepts and requirements, operating principles, and methodology to manage program certifications for the assigned submarine fleet. You will review Quality Assurance processes, procedures, specifications, drawings, and higher technical authority specifications to determine the adequacy of the Quality Assurance Program. You will direct in-depth studies and investigations to analyze and resolve critical Quality Assurance problems. You will execute a complete range of managerial functions including personnel, financial, and administrative resource requirement development and program direction.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring and analyzing submarine certification programs (e.g. Quality Assurance (QA), SUBSAFE, Scope of Certification (SOC), Nondestructive Testing (NDT), Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS), Radiological Affairs Support Program (RASP)); analyzing program problems or deficiencies and developing mitigations; and evaluating and implementing new procedural or regulatory developments to ensure program compliance.
