The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Prevention Program for the squadron. The position is to develop and manage comprehensive Tool Control and Accountability Program for the Squadron by providing analysis, evaluating and making recommendations to higher management.

Duties

Performs studies, analyzes data, prepare plans, reports, agreements, tracks action items, monitors support effectiveness with respect to program management, and provides briefing to management when necessary. Plan, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and mee customer needs. Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

  • Responsible for implementing the full spectrum of FOD Prevention Program and the Tool Control and Accountability Program for the squadron.
  • Represents the squadron commander with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
  • Works in conjunction with other squadron FOD and Tool Control Monitors and contractors.
  • Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have at least three years of progressively responsible general experience, one year of experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc.). Typically, we would find this experience in work within this field that is closely related. General Experience is described as experience demonstrating the ability to: 1) analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) plan and organize work; and 3) communicate effectively orally and in writing. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. Provides insight and input to the overall squadron coordinator in the development of an integrated FOD prevention program and Tool Control Accountability program that will be deployed throughout the complex. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Applicants must havesuccessfully completed 4-years above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education has been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. 2. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. 3. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. 5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. 6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
