The primary purpose of this position is to service as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer and Senior Reserve Advisor to the Sustainment Center Commander, providing operational planning and strategic guidance and execution with respect to situational awareness and operational control of Reserve activities with respect to Air Force Service execution.
Duties
Assist the Sustainment Center Commander in planning and coordinating future operations; direct and control current mobilization; protect forces and critical infrastructure.
Evaluate the management of assigned resources and assess the ability Air Force Reserve Center (AFRC) units to perform their mission.
Provide advisory assistance in the development and application of administrative and operational policies, procedures, program planning and surveillance of activities within scope of assignment.
Stay abreast of policy decisions made by higher agency levels which have an impact on assigned programs or missions.
Represent the AFRC Commander at high-level meetings, boards, and conferences.
Requirements

- This position is centrally managed by the Air Force Reserve Officer Career Program Manager team. Travel and relocation expenses will be paid.
- A recruitment incentive may be authorized. Completion of a 1-year service agreement is required.
- Preferred Military AFSC and Grade: 090G0
- Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
- Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance

- Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
- Disclosure of Political Appointments is required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Must possess demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities essential to successful accomplishment of responsibilities inherent in this position.
- May be required fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty (TDY) assignments.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level (or other equivalent pay systems) in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes planning, organizing and carrying through to completion analytical studies involving the substance of key agency program relative to the organization mission; developing and implementing programs based upon new or revised legislation and performing very broad and extensive studies and analyses regarding assigned programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, practices, laws and regulation of maintenance management functions and of trends of current developments within the function.
2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organization structures and operations that govern and interface with a sustainment center customer requirement for identification of strategic and long-range management planning issues.
3. Ability to objectively analyze information, identify new developments and direct appropriate maintenance program actions.
4. Ability to plan, organize and direct team study work/special projects and to influence management to support and implement recommendations.
5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in relations with high ranking (military and/or civilian).
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
