About the Position: You will serve as a Flight Simulator Training Instructor/Instrument Examiner (simulator only) utilizing motion and non-motion based AH-64 "Longbow Crew Trainer" or CH-47 "Transportable Flight Proficiency Flight Simulator".

Duties

Utilize motion and non-motion based AH-64 "Longbow Crew Training" Flight Simulators or CH-47 "Transportable Flight Proficiency Flight Simulator" for instruction and/or evaluations. Instruct and/or evaluate rated Army, National Guard, and Reserve component Aviators. Conduct training and evaluations on rated aviators in accordance with Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) advanced techniques and procedures. Provide briefings for flight evaluations to explain evaluation procedures and tasks to be performed. Review, revise, and develop training test and instructional material to apply to training periods.

  • This position requires to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires to work non-standard hours (after regular duty hours and weekend) as necessary to accomplish mission objectives.
  • This position requires a valid state driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing classroom instruction on flight simulation and instrument flight procedures for longbow crew trainer flight simulators; evaluate individuals on flight techniques; conduct instrument examiner duties; and perform ground and/or in-flight simulator instruction/evaluations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingLearning and Program EvaluationOral CommunicationTraining Aids, Devices, Simulators, and SimulationsWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
