About the Position: This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).

Duties

Provide policy and oversight of nonappropriated funds (NAF) procurement, construction, and related procedures. Oversee a broad range of DoD resale, MWR, lodging and NAF and other related programs and services addressing the needs and challenges of service members and their families. Exercise operational coordination and review of NAF oriented procurement and construction policy and planning issues. Conduct management surveys and research projects to develop policy positions on a variety of high-level issues of vast scope and critical importance. Initiate partnerships with military services and reserve components to resolve a variety of complex issues involving service members and their families. Conducts unprecedented special assignments on complex high-priority issues in which the scope frequently alters as the work progresses. Develop legislative proposals and coordinates legislation for NAF procurement and construction.
