About the Position: Serve as Protocol Officer and Executive Services expert advisor to the Department of Army Criminal Investigation Division (DACID) Director, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff (COS), Assistant Directors, and staff principals on all protocol matters. Position located in Quanitco, VA.
Duties
Develop, implement, and update protocol program for events, visits, and official ceremonies in accordance with military regulations and standards.
Analyze trends and developments in protocol and adjusts processes and procedures as necessary to meet evolving needs and standards.
Develop instructions for handling all protocol matters to include totally integrated time-phased planning of activities/events being developed as well as methods to ensure completion dates and specific requirements are met.
Schedule, plan, coordinate, and execute itineraries for distinguished guests attending CID trips and events; proposes guest lists; seating arrangements in accordance with protocol precedence; and procurement and placement of ceremonial accouterments.
Provide pre-briefing as needed for senior staff.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- One year trial period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes facilitating all protocol aspects of visits and events for high-ranking dignitaries; advising management on proper protocol procedures; coordinating with internal and external personnel to execute event plans; and developing itineraries for guest special events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
