About the Position: This is a TERM NTE 3 years position as a Supervisory Housing Management Specialist Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Manage and advise on the technical and administrative aspects of privatized and unaccompanied housing programs in accordance to organizational and regulatory guidance.
Oversee operations (e.g., inventory management, community liaison, requirements, resourcing, etc.) for all housing assets and programs in accordance to regulatory standards.
Convey ideas and facts to senior leaders to assist with productivity, quality management and organizational improvements.
Convey information in a clear and concise manner using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling to senior leaders within and outside the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Secret clearance is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State and/or International driver’s license.

- This position is an inclement weather essential position and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.
- Position may require that employee pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
Qualifications
This is a TERM position not to exceed 2 years. Term appointments may be extended up to eight years.
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. This Position may be made permanent without further competition.
This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). Obligated positions may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances. When a position is obligated to an employee it means that he/she has an entitlement to that position. During the obligation period, the position may be filled on a temporary or permanent basis. When an obligated position is filled, the selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that (s)he is aware of the obligation and accepts the fact that (s)he may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at
a later time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the application of a wide range of housing management principles, concepts, and methodology to a variety of complex work assignments involving the full range of housing activities such as operations and maintenance, financial management, assignment utilization, construction and improvements, management-tenant relations, referral services, furnishing and equipment management, and privatized housing and lodging.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
