You will serve as an Electronics Mechanic Leader in the 2M Exterior Communications Shop 957A Production Department of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.
Duties
You will interpret instruction from the supervisor and plan the workload based on the availability and capability of other workers.
You will demonstrate the pace of work and answer worker questions on procedures, policies, and instructions.
You will report to the supervisor on the status and progress of all work and alert the supervisor of any causes of work delays.
You will ensure the appropriate manuals, blueprints, tools, and supplies are obtained to complete jobs.
You will ensure the work gets started in a timely manner and check work in progress to see whether schedules and timelines are being met.
You will assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed and stop work when an unsafe or unhealthy condition arises.
You will read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, technical equipment maintenance and operational manuals and specifications.
You will use tools peculiar to the electronic trade such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drills, taps, dies, wire strippers, soldering irons, heat sinks, and solder extractors.
You will select and use specialized testing and measuring instruments such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, wave meters, voltmeters, and frequency meters.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position requires onboard ship work.
- This position requires climbing on ladders and scaffolding.
- This position requires color vision.
- This position requires working in confined spaces.
Qualifications
