You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER in the PRODUCTION DAPARTMENT of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will assign work in accordance with priorities established by the supervisor and ensue that workers fully understand and properly execute the supervisor's instructions. You will interpret instruction from the supervisor and plan the workload based on the availability and capability. You will lead personnel in the repair, overhaul, modification, installation test, adjustment and alignment of complex electronics equipment and devices You will ensure the appropriate manuals, blueprints, tools and supplies are obtained to complete jobs. You will ensure that work gets started in a timely manner and check work in progress to see whether schedules and timelines are being met. You will read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, technical equipment maintenance and operational manuals and specifications. You will give technical work instructions to personnel of lesser skills assigned to assist on the job.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
  • This position may require you to work in small and/or confined spaces.
  • This position may require work onboard ships.
