You will serve as an ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the Production Department, Combat Systems Product Family at SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER in San Diego, CA.

Duties

You will supervise the assembly, fabrication, overhaul, installation, maintenance, and repair, of various fixed, semi-fixed, ground, airborne, and marine electronic equipment such as radar, communication, cryptographic, sonar, and related devices. You will insure that tools, equipment, and materials are properly used, stored, and maintained. You will perform administrative supervisory duties such as maintaining time and manhour charges, rating employee performance, approving leave requests, recommending formal disciplinary or commendatory actions, and carrying out EEO policies. You will provide direct input to the Product Family Manager (PFM) to plan use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and other resources to accomplish work operations on a monthly basis and day-to-day operations on various ships. You will assign work to subordinate employees by written or oral orders while assuring quality control of their work in progress and upon completion.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
