Duties

Provide instructions to others and ensure projects are started. Ensure that all equipment is checked, fueled and serviced. Advise supervisors on project status, delays, and overall operations. Provide information to supervisor of any accidents, personnel issues, or disciplinary problems. Operate a variety of heavy and maintenance equipment related to construction.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• Incumbent must have a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) upon appointment.

About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Engineering Equipment Operator Leader, located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, which is a subordinate installation of JMC. Good hand, foot and eye coordination, depth perception and concentration are required. When possible and practical, mechanical hoist, dollies, hand trucks, etc., are used and fellow workers assist when needed. At no time is the pace or weight lifts to exceed safety regulations. Worker is required to keep his eyes and ears open at all times and be able to distinguish color. A physical examination is required each year. Working Conditions: The worker when operating equipment is exposed to moving machinery. Minor to fatal injuries may occur if rules and regulations governing the operation of equipment are discarded. Majority of the time is spent working outside, with exposure to snow, ice, heat, dust and dirt.
