You will serve as a SUPERVISORY RECREATION FITNESS SPECIALIST in the Semper Fit Division of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR

Duties

You will serve as the manager of a large diversified fitness center. You will assist and instruct various fitness classes and seminars as needed. You will monitor equipment, supplies at facility, and submits requests to purchase equipment replacements. You will conduct an ongoing program to provide conditioning programs for various personnel.

Requirements

• You will be required to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Personal Training certification from ACE, ACSM, Cooper, or another provider that has been accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR and AED certification.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Plan and coordinate recreational program activities and events that will stimulate and sustain the interest of participants; 2) Develop and monitor the execution of an annual operating budget to ensure activities and programs meet organizational goals and objectives; 3) Provide guidance on facility and grounds maintenance, safety regulations, and specialized equipment; and 4) Oversee purchasing and inventory control to ensure items meet program guidelines. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

• Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or
• 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or
• LL.B or J.D., if related
