This position is with the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), an independent authority within the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Authorized by Congress in 2012, the FirstNet Authority's mission is to develop, build, and operate the nationwide broadband network that equips first responders with the necessary communications to save lives and protect U.S. communities. Duties

This position functions as the Chief of Staff and is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority), Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO), in Reston, VA. At the full performance level (ZA-V), the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: 1. Oversees the Office of the Executive Director for the FirstNet Authority. 2. Represents the Executive Director at high level meetings, coordinating the development and execution of strategic initiatives as directed by the Executive Director, and leads or participates in current and long-range planning meetings to ensure plans are met and accountability is served across all objectives, goals, and strategic direction of FirstNet Authority.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the ZA-V, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the ZA-IV or GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: Managing and/or leading a diverse workforce in support of mission objectives. Managing, preparing, and facilitating executive level, high-profile, and short turnaround requests/documents, briefings, speeches, and meetings. Providing recommendations to senior leaders based on a thorough understanding of the agency's objectives and procedures. Developing short and long-term plans, policies, and guidance to support organizational priorities and program requirements. Must meet all.
