You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NAVAL ARCHITECTURE) in the Submarine Structural Branch (Code 255), Structural Engineering & Planning Division (Code 250), Engineering & Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide technical guidance for preparation of lists on drawings or technical work documents (TWD's) required to execute complex projects.
You will performs review of a variety of drawings, material specifications, test procedures, and other documents pertaining to assigned complex projects for technical adequacy and compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
You will elevate issues requiring professional level engineering evaluation to the proper level to ensure adequate technical review.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience of Naval Architecture concepts theories, principles, and practices. Experience evaluating and applying the latest developments and techniques in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted methods.
Experience serving as a technical authority within the branch and the shipyard for the full range of shipyard naval architectural facilities, systems and components.
Experience applying principles and practices of naval architecture engineering.
Experience communicating and cooperating in areas of work that interface with personnel of other engineering disciplines.
