Job opening: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I

Salary: $43 - 50 per hour

You will serve as a Maintenance Supervisor i in the PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will plan work for maintenance employees based on resource capabilities of the employees. You will inspect work in progress and upon completion for efficiency, economy, and safety of operations. You will advise on the use of general maintenance safety equipment. You will recommend changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences to accomplish maintenance work. You will review work accomplishments, cost, and utilization of other trade junior employees to evaluate work process.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position may be a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Determining the cause of malfunctions and making repairs to structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, HVAC, boilers and their infrastructure using technically proficient methods; 2) Planning and performing work using blueprints, specifications, and sketches; 3) Completing repairs using troubleshooting techniques, shop mathematics, and in accordance with work orders or instructions; and 4) Planning work schedules and sequence of operations for the work force supervised.
