Duties
The incumbent is a recognized authority in Department of Defense (DoD)/DLA regarding Federal Catalog System (FCS) policies, procedures and systems as they pertain to supply operations and life cycle management activities.
Responsible for the functional oversight of the policy and procedures of the Cataloging process, to include communication with U.S. and NATO logistics data partners to ensure joint inter-operability with logistics data exchanges.
Exercises leadership and overall responsibility for managing, coordinating, prioritizing, and directing process and procedure changes to all systems utilized in support of the Department of Defense.
Establishes short term and long-range goals and objectives, with response to changes in legislation, program authority, and funding.
Recommends, initiates, develops, prioritizes, and coordinates change requests to support policy, regulation, or procedural changes within the Federal Catalog System.
Facilitates changes to the Department of Defense and Federal logistics data systems, operations, methods, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective productivity and workflow.
Coordinates and responds to major Congressional, GAO, or IG investigations, audits, and/or inspections as applicable.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Logistics System Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Facilitates changes to Department of Defense or Federal logistics data systems, operations, methods, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective productivity and workflow.
Provides process improvement recommendations to top-level agency management briefings and to the Process Owner, Coordinating and responding to major Congressional, GAO, or IG investigations, audits, and/or inspections.
Experience with the principles, administrative laws, policies, regulations, concepts, standards, and practices of the Federal Catalog System.
Works with personnel from customer-facing, supplier-facing, and Comptroller groups for process improvement efforts.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates the implementation of system requirements with stakeholders.

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
