You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST (DATA MANAGEMENT)( in the Marine and Family Programs Division (MF), Manpower and Reserves Affair (M&RA) of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will extract data points from various resources, including command, medical, and case management reports for input into data systems. You will organize data into standardized format using established data management structures for reporting. You will identify problems involved in the input, retrieval or modification of database information and the general operation and maintenance of the corporate data system elements or sub-elements. You will provide interpretations of established regulations and guidance concerning database systems and coordinates resolution of problem areas encountered with higher levels.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, collecting, organizing, cleaning, tracking, and/or extracting data from various resources, related to behavior health incidents (e.g. suicide, domestic and child abuse, substance abuse, and sexual assault) and provide process improvement recommendations to management. Education

In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
